Hi everybody, and Happy New Year!
Christmas and New Year can be especially difficult for some of us. Old memories, unmet expectations, or being surrounded by too much “celebrating” can feel overwhelming, bewildering, and sometimes triggering. During these times, it’s important to remember that we’re not alone. Thankfully, there are many in-person and online meetings where we can find fellowship, understanding, and support. These meetings offer a safe space to connect, help ground us, and remind us that staying clean and sober is possible, one day at a time.
I truly hope your holiday season was a good one and that you were able to spend it with people who love you, support you, and recognize your value. If the holidays were challenging, I hope you were able to lean into community and give yourself the grace you deserve.
2025 was a busy and productive year for everyone at Crossroads. We implemented a more streamlined and effective schedule for both our clients and staff, allowing us to better meet everyone’s needs while maintaining the quality of care we strive to provide. We also continued to welcome clients whose insurance coverage we are able to accept, ensuring access to care whenever possible. Between January and December 2025, we admitted 120 clients, and as always, Sandra McCoy and T’Chell Looby have been following up with them wherever possible. During the year, we also launched the Crossroads Alumni Chapter Meetings, held every Wednesday at 1:00 PM AST. These process groups were designed to give our alumni an extra layer of ongoing support after completing treatment, recognizing that continued connection is essential for long-term recovery. The groups offer a safe and supportive space for alumni to share experiences, stay connected with the Crossroads community, and strengthen their recovery alongside peers who truly understand the journey. Facilitated by our dedicated primary therapists, they provide consistency, guidance, and meaningful support as alumni continue moving forward. Week by week, more alumni are joining, creating a vibrant community of support and connection.
Looking ahead, one of our primary goals for 2026 is to increase our census and help as many people as we can. We are excited about the opportunity to expand our reach and better serve our community by broadening our focus to include more labor union members and Spanish-speaking individuals. Our hope is to remove as many barriers as possible and continue meeting people where they are.
Finally, please stay tuned for a surprise announcement coming in the next few weeks.
We are truly looking forward to sharing what’s ahead with you.
With love and fellowship,
Nicos P and the Crossroads Team!
